Tuffy became a champion Scottish Terrier at the young age of 18 months old. He came to live with his current owners as a retired champion at the age of 2 years old and since then he has ruled the household!
Tuffy's personality is one of his best champion show dog traits. It is because of this spunky personality that he is such a people dog. Children and the elderly love him, and that is why he gets invited to so many of their activities. Everybody just loves Tuffy! How could they not?
At the age of 6, Tuffy was diagnosed with liver disease and not expected to live but a few years, but of course, Tuffy beat the odds! He had his tonsils removed and has also had numerous surgeries for tumors that were all thought to be malignant, but (luckily) were all benign. His most recent battle was with a case of pancreatitis, which he fell very ill with. But once again, Tuffy pulled through with shining colors.
Tuffy was crowned with many nicknames due to his ability fight and win against just about anything and everything that's come his way. He is referred to as "The Miracle Dog", "The Timex Watchdog" (That keeps on ticking!), and "The Old Warhorse".
Tuffy is currently 12.5 years old (which makes him the current oldest living Champion Show Scottie!), full of life, well, and living an extremely productive life. Some of Tuffy's likes include going for walks, sitting on the couch, playing in the snow, and going to Grandma's house where he gets people food! (Shhh! Don't tell Dr. Bolton!) In his spare time Tuffy loves to play with is tennis ball, walk to the Skate Park and play with the kids, and talk to everybody! His favorite food is Bomb Pops! A nice icy treat for the hot weather, which he despises!
His owners say that a quote from The Bible can explain his ability to survive all of the doubtful diagnoses; "I can do all things though him who strengthens me." They also go on to say that they are truly blessed to have Tuffy and hope to have many more years ahead with his company!
